'Cleaning Fairy' charged with domestic violence

ELYRIA – Susan Warren, the woman dubbed the “Cleaning Fairy,” was arrested again today on domestic violence charges, just weeks after she was arrested while shoveling Elyria driveways without permission.

Elyria police Capt. Chris Costantino said officers were called to Warren’s home in the 100 block of Marseilles Ave. that she shares with her son, Michael Warren, Tuesday night. Costantino said Susan Warren had called police claiming that her son had stolen money from her, and she demanded that officers search his room.

Costantino said officers left after finding Susan Warren’s claims unfounded, but returned later after Michael Warren called police saying that his mother had assaulted him.

According to a police report, Susan Warren had struck her son twice with a “homemade weapon.” Michael Warren had red marks on his rib cage, police said.

Michael Warren told police after he was attacked, he locked himself in his room with his girlfriend and his infant child, who was born in January, said Costantino. Michael Warren said he feared for their safety as Susan Warren was kicking the door.

Police arrested Susan Warren at 12:15 a.m. in the home, and she was charged with domestic violence.

Susan Warren received a year of probation after breaking into a Westlake home in May, cleaning it and leaving a bill for the homeowner. She was arrested Jan. 22 for a probation violation after police received reports that Warren was shoveling a neighbor’s driveway without permission from the homeowner.

Warren’s sister told The Chronicle-Telegram in May that she believed Warren was suffering from a mental illness. Police have been called to the family’s home in the past after Warren tried to break into her brother’s residence to retrieve money he was holding for her.

Warren denied her sister’s claims, however, and has said she was just trying to “make some money,” by cleaning the Westlake home. She believed the homeowner overreacted and said she has entered and cleaned homes in the past without permission from the residents.

Warren was arraigned in Elyria Municipal Court today on the domestic violence charges, and she entered a plea of not guilty.

She was ordered to have no contact with her son, Michael Warren.
