State of the State tickets available through random drawing

Residents interested in attending the State of the State address in Medina have a chance to win tickets in a random drawing.

Gov. John Kasich will give the annual address on Feb. 24 at Medina High School in Medina, home of retiring Republican House Speaker Bill Batchelder.

Residents can submit their names online to be eligible for a random ticket drawing. This is the third year that tickets have been made available to the public via the lottery, according to a release from the governor’s office.

Residents can request a maximum of two tickets starting today through 6 p.m. Feb. 18. Individuals selected at random will be notified via email by noon on Feb. 19.

This will be the third year that Kasich has broken with tradition of delivering the address at the Statehouse in Columbus. In 2012, the address was given at WellsAcademy, a public elementary school in Steubenville, and in 2013 it was given at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center in Lima.
