High school volleyball: EC falls to Padua


ELYRIA — Brooke Dungan had 12 assists, while Megan Hanson had 15 kills for the Panthers (11-9, 9-6 NCL) in a North Coast League loss to Padua,
17-25, 25-13, 25-13, 25-14, Tuesday night.
Katie Svat had 16 digs, while Zoe Zwegat had four solo blocks and four block assists. Katherine McNeely had eight service points (three aces).

ELYRIA — Elyria successfully celebrated Seniors Night as the Pioneers defeated Lakewood
in Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division action.
Senior Jen Bower had 13 digs, while classmate Jodi Richards had five kills and two block assists for the Pioneers (16-5, 7-2 NOC). Carly Kuehn had five kills and six digs, and Sarah Hawke had two blocks. Lexi Smith had six digs and 12 service points.

AMHERST — Deme Morales and Courtney Jarvis had 11 kills apiece for the Comets (19-2, 12-1 SWC) in a Southwestern Conference match.
Amherst’s Lauren Percival had 21 assists, while Jarvis had 17 digs. Brittany Walter had 11 blocks.

AVON LAKE — Lisa Bakaitis had six blocks and 13 kills, while Miranda Barnhart had 17 kills and 15 digs for the Shoregals (8-13,
7-6 SWC). Carly Dalgleish had
13 kills and 13 digs, and Surti Schuller had 27 digs. Sarah Karpinski had 10 digs, while Kalli Wakefield had 10 digs and 39 assists.

O. Falls 25-26-19-25-15, N.Olmsted 16-28-25-15-13

OLMSTED FALLS — Lauren Whyte had 16 kills, while Brittany Snider had 13 kills for the Bulldogs (17-3, 12-1 SWC). Julie Radigan had 57 assists.

BAY VILLAGE — Kathleen Goodman had 22 service points (five aces), while Lauren Gauvrau had 14 kills for the Middies (16-5, 12-1 WSC) in West Shore Conference action. Jacki Street had nine kills, and Courtney Chalmers had 34 digs. Hannah Duran had 39 assists, and Kelsey Voit had six solo blocks and four block assists.
Pam Urwin had three service aces and 12 digs, and Marissa Raddick had 16 kills for the Rockets (10-11, 7-6 WSC). Bridget Doughty had 36 assists.

NORTH RIDGEVILLE — Christina Herbst (19), Christie Mingo (13) and Sara Ladegaard (nine) led the Eagles (7-14, 6-7 WSC) in kills. Kenzie Berkheimer had one service ace and 47 assists. Ali Haldi had 10 digs, while Allison Leighty had 12 blocks with two block kills.
Brit Borges had 14 service points (six aces) and 20 assists, while Hannah Sedar had 17 kills for the Rangers (10-11, 4-9 WSC). Jaime Frindt had 19 digs, and Molly Ciryak had eight blocks with one block kill.

Fairview 25-25-25, Vermilion 20-14-16

VERMILION — Heather Mariner had 15 digs, 24 service points (nine aces) and 11 kills to pace the Warriors (15-3, 12-1 WSC). Megan Lewis had 24 assists, and Brady Lorek had six blocks for Fairview.
Katie Karres had nine service points (three aces)  and three digs for the Sailors (3-18, 0-13 WSC). Julia Clark had six kills, while Andrea Rini had seven assists. Brandi Thompson had two blocks and one block assist.

SHEFFIELD TWP. — Briana Shullick had 13 service points, seven kills and eight digs for the Clippers (5-11, 3-8 PAC) in Patriot Athletic Conference action. Jessica Dziak had seven service points (one ace) and 31 assists, and Cybrenna Kimbrough had eight kills. Jody Zellers had two block kills, while Sally Roule had 10 digs.

SHEFFIELD — Ali Gendron had 25 kills, while Kyleigh Whitsel had 36 assists for the Cardinals (15-4, 9-3 PAC). Taryn Leonard had 15 service points (three aces), while Caitlin O’Neal had six digs. Stephanie Albright (nine) and Kayla Lee (eight) led in blocks.
Megan Auble had 10 kills, eight service points and 18 digs, while Amy Rader had nine kills and nine service points (two aces) for the Dukes (13-9, 7-6 PAC). Callie McConnell had eight kills and eight service points (three aces), and Melanie Conklin had 20 assists. Morgan Brasee had 11 assists, while Melissa Rennie had 14 digs. Chrissy Greer had 15 digs.

COLUMBIA STATION — Brooke Wenzel had 12 kills, while Emily Nagle had 18 assists and seven service aces for the Raiders
(11-10, 5-7 PAC). Chelsea Schabo had 11  digs, and Melanie Bowes had four solo blocks.

Christian Com. 25-25-25, Open Door 13-19-17

NORTH EATON — Trish Brown had 11 kills, and Taylor Gerent had six assists and 25 digs for the Warriors (15-5) in non-conference action. Joy Baker and Kristen Horstman each had 13 service points (four aces), while Michaela Hawkins had four blocks.
Melissa Maxwell had five kills, and Elizabeth Westgate had seven assists for the Patriots (11-9).

Lake Ridge 25-25-25, Lutheran East 21-21-12

NORTH RIDGEVILLE —Seniors Rubina Ratnaparkhi, Erica Lasky and Megan Bus combined for 24 kills, 12 service points (seven aces) and 30 digs for the Lions (10-5). Brit Brown had 12 assists for the winners.
