Plan to keep your independence with Seniors Helping Seniors

"Failure to plan is planning to fail," grandmother would say to me time and again. A country-girl with "storebought teeth," grandma's point of view about life was usually correct.

If you want to remain living in your own home, as independently as possible, you need to make a plan for what is known as aging in place. Seriously. You plan to get your hair done. You plan to take your pet to the vets. You plan to get the oil changed in your vehicle. Start working on your plan to prevent the ups and downs of life from robbing you of your independence.

Seniors Helping Seniors is a local organization that can help you with your plan to stay as independent as possible. The services offered by Seniors Helping Seniors are provided by older adults who, like you, have a little living under their belts. Could your aging in place plan benefit from the following services?

Companion Care

Socializing in and out of the home, one on one time to sit and talk, reminiscing over a cup of tea, taking a walk or a drive or going to special activities.

Personal Care

Personal care tasks such as dressing, eating, bathing, using the toilet, transferring from a bed to chair.

Homemaker Services

Help with household chores including changing the bedding, laundry, light house cleaning, meal preparation, and shopping.

On your schedule with drivers who meet you at your door, help you in and out of the vehicle, and run errands and carry packages.

Handyman Services

Home modifications to help keep you independent, small and large repairs, and outdoor landscaping projects.

Working with loving, caring, compassionate seniors can provide a layer of security and assistance for those who want to stay independent. For a free assessment call Seniors Helping Seniors at 440-935-3848.

You can start today to make a plan for aging on your terms. To quote Norman Vincent Peale, " change your thoughts and you change your world." I think grandma would agree.
