John L. Stout, 79, a resident of Elyria, for the past 51 years, has passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family, following a short illness. He was born February 9, 1940 in Jane Lew, West Virginia.
John retired in 2000 from York International. He was a Material Handler for 16 years. He was also employed for 16 years at Tappan in Elyria. John was an active member of Murray Ridge Church of God, "Refuge Church". He enjoyed hunting and gardening in the yard and flower beds.
Mr. Stout is survived by his wife of 55 years, Fay Stout (nee Farmer); children, Cindy Hebb (Jerry) of Jane Lew, West Virginia, Kenneth (Rose) of Elyria, Michael (Kathy) of Elyria, Linda (Joseph) Smith of Sheffield Township; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, George Russell; two infant brothers; parents, Russell G. and Virginia D. (nee Oldaker) Stout.
Friends may call 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Murray Ridge Church of God "Refuge Church", 7942 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria with a funeral service at 12 noon. The Reverend Chad Britt will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
