Ernest Ray Flynn, 67, of Lorain, died Thursday, February 14, 2019 in Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain. He was born September 6, 1951 in Bronston, Kentucky, to Opal Marie (nee Hardwick) and the late Ernest Clifford Flynn. Fifty years ago, Mr. Flynn moved to Lorain, where he met his wife, Frances Christina "Chris" (nee Berry) Flynn who died on August 21, 1991.
After arriving in Lorain, he began his employment in the trim department and garage of the Ford Motor Company, Lorain Assembly Plant, where he worked for 33 years before retiring. Mr. Flynn enjoyed hunting and fishing. He traveled all over the United States including Alaska.
Mr. Flynn is survived by his mother, Opal Marie (nee Hardwick) Flynn of Bronston; daughter, Misty Dawn Mcie of Lorain; brothers, Virgil L. Flynn of South Amherst and Doyle A. Flynn of Bronston; sisters, Helen M. Denny of Bronston, Glenda J. Phillips of Sommerset, Kentucky and Nancy Casada of Bronston and four grandchildren.
In addition to his father and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Dusty Ray Flynn in 1987.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 22, 2019 from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. in The Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will follow at 1 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
