Thorle Thrush, 97, of Elyria, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, following a brief illness. He was born October 14, 1921 in Wellington.
Thrush traveled to the Philippines and Japan while serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Engineering, and was a member of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Thrush worked as an engineer for Western Automatic, now Moen and retired following 38 years of service.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Thrush was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (nee Wawrzenczak); parents, Torrence and Audra (nee Conner) Thrush and a brother, Merle Thrush.
Graveside services will be private at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria, where V.F.W. Post #1079 will provide full Military Honors.
