James B. Eckenroad, 70, of Lorain, died Friday, September 21, 2018. He was born November 9, 1947 in Elyria and was a 1965 graduate of Elyria High School.
Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam in 1968. He had been employed at U.S. Steel/Republic Steel in Lorain in quality control for 27 years, retiring in 1995.
Jim is survived by his sisters, Jean Eckenroad of Lorain and Barbara Eckenroad of Brewster, Ohio; brother, Richard Eckenroad of Lorain; three nieces, four nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irwin and Evangeline Eckenroad; brother, Robert Eckenroad and a nephew, Ross Eckenroad.
Friends will be received Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 4 to 6 P.M. at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be 11 A.M., Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in the chapel of Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. The Reverend David L. Rogers will officiate.
