Conrad R. Zech

Conrad R. Zech, 85, of Henrietta Township, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at his home, following a brief illness. He was born May 28, 1933 in Lorain and was a Henrietta Township resident for most of his life.

Conrad retired as a corrections officer at the Lorain Correctional Facility in Grafton and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He formerly worked at the Bendix-Westinghouse Company for many years and was a 4-H advisor for 40 years.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Wilma; daughter, Linda (Henry Jr.) Husk; sons, David (Miriam) Zech, Jeff (Tonie) Zech and Tim Zech; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and sister, Roberta Stanchak.

He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Zech; grandson, William Zech and sister, Geraldine Husar.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 P.M., Friday, September 14, 2018 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be private. Private burial will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Lorain County 4-H Shooting Sports, 51167 State Rt. 113 Amherst, OH. 44001.
