Susan J. MacBeth (nee Bishop), 79, a resident of Elyria, until moving to Grafton in 2007, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Life Care Center of Elyria. She was born April 10, 1939, to Albert and Bettye (nee Robertson) Bishop and was a 1957 graduate of Elyria High School.
After graduation, she was employed at the former Worthington Ball Company and later for 38 years at Elyria Memorial Hospital. Susan was active member at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Elyria and from 1985-1999 belonged to Parents Without Partners.
Susan is survived by her husband and caretaker, Gerald, whom she married in 1999; son, John (Beth) Emmerich of Brunswick; daughter, Mary Beth (Fred) Greene of Columbus; grandchildren, Shawna (Eric) Gereke, Sara (Scott) Solarz, Samantha Emmerich, Chelsea (Sam) Lopez, Jack Rose; great-grandchildren, Grace and Jillen Solarz, Caden and Ian Gereke and Emily Emmmerich; stepchildren, Dianne Crockett, Dale MacBeth and Robin (Tony) Anderson; many stepgrandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy in 1965; mother, Bettye in 1982 and father, Albert in 2007.
Susan's family would like to thank all those who have been so supportive over the past months, including the staff at the Life Care Center of Elyria and Crossroads Hospice.
A memorial service will be Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 12 Noon in St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 300 3rd St., Elyria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church Altar Guild.
