John W. Small, 61, of Amherst, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 13, 2018. John was born April 1, 1957 in Amherst, where he was raised and lived throughout Ohio before moving back to Amherst in 1992.
He was the owner and operator of Lorain Armature in Vermilion for 33 years. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren. He loved music. He enjoyed going fishing, being outdoors and grilling with family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Amanda "Mandy" (John) Schaller and Melissa "Missy" (Tony) Tuccini, both of Allen Park, Michigan and Michael (Nichole) Small of Groveport, Ohio; grandchildren, Nicholas Tuccini and Brady Schaller; father, George Small of Amherst and sister, Janet (Michael) Ranney of Amherst.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Small (nee Deuschle).
Friends may call Friday, July 20, 2018 from 5 P.M. until the time of his service of celebration at 8 P.M. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his mother's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Cleveland Area Chapter, P.O. Box 74924, Cleveland, OH 44194-4924.
