David F. Kleinhenz, 51, of Grafton, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at his residence, following a lengthy illness. He was born September 24, 1966 in Lakewood and was a graduate of St. Ed's High School.
David was an engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. David was a school board member for Midview Schools and was very active in all things Midview including being the announcer for soccer and basketball games as well as the marching band half time shows. He worked the scoreboard for wrestling and basketball. He enjoyed music, cooking, swimming, Cocoa his chocolate lab puppy and making people laugh but he was especially proud of his children. David had also been a volunteer fireman for Grafton and Elyria Twp. and a paramedic for Life Care of Elyria.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Richelle (nee Berkel); daughters, Elizabeth and Rachel, both of Grafton; sons, David and Andrew, both of Grafton; mother, Louise Kleinhenz (nee Nunn) of Olmsted Twp; sister, Ann (Daniel) Fallon of North Olmsted; brother, John (Darlene) Kleinhenz of Peoria, Arizona; he was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Kleinhenz.
Family will receive friends 3 to 7 P.M., Monday, June 25, 2018 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria, 440-322-4626. Closing prayers will be 9:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 708 Erie St., Grafton. The Reverend Father John Seabold, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
