Richard "Daddy Rich" Massey, 53, of Elyria, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was born December 20, 1963 in Elyria and lived most of his life in Ohio.
After graduating from Midview High School, he was stationed in several states and traveled the world while serving 14 years in the United States Navy.
Richard was an avid sports fan who enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. He was full of life, always had a big smile on his face and never missed an opportunity to show off his best dance moves. He loved to cook and reveled in calling himself "the grill master".
Richard leaves five children, Bobbi, Nanna, Jaqueline, Richard and Xavier; five brothers, William, Cornelius, James, Malachi and Jonathon; four sisters, Marietta, Christine, Bernetta and Sierra; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Malachi Wade and Mary Massey and a sister, Jaqueline Massey.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 11 A.M. until time of service at 12 Noon at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.
