Kathy L. Williams, 72, of Elyria, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 1, 2017 following a six month battle with cancer. She was born October 18, 1945 in West Virginia and had lived most of her life in Avon before moving to Elyria 25 years ago.
She worked in the housekeeping department of Econo-Lodge in Elyria before an accident in 2000 left her unable to work. Kathy enjoyed bluegrass music and was always ready to dance. Her greatest love was her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Lola and Jesse Banks and Jiles and Shelia Williams; survivors also include grandchildren, Mark (Brooke), Dashawn (Gabie), Shelby, Jessalyn, Asianna and Kamren; great-grandchildren, Markus and Logan (who are set to be born in March); sisters, Phyllis, Hazel, Ernestine and Carol and by brothers, Billy, Paul, Michael and Randy; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oran Williams; sisters, Wanda and Charolette; step-daughter, Sharon and by her beloved granddog, Diva.
Friends may call Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 6 to 9 P.M. in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 11 A.M. in the A-Frame Chapel, at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Rd. (Route 83), in Avon. Please meet at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
