Mary E. Hickman (nee Miller), 76, of Elyria, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 13, 2017, at University Hospitals of Cleveland after a short illness. She was born in Hazard, Kentucky and had been a resident of Elyria since 1962.
Mary loved her God and was a member of Sugar Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching old movies and being in the company of family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry; daughters, Penny Goff (Glen) of Sullivan, Yvonna Criss (Michael) of Elyria, Amy Shreve Vealey (Steve) of Mansfield; sons, John R. of Waynesfield, James D. (Amy) of Elyria; grandchildren, Marshall, Jennifer, Jeremy, Andrew, Anthony, Danielle, John, Adam, Cory, Kaley, and JT; 14 great-grandchildren and two identical twin girls on the way; sister, Emmazell Grigsby of Hazard, Kentucky; brother, Jackie Miller of Vevay, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Sylvania (nee Hudson) Miller; brothers, George B. Grigsby, Asberry Grigsby, Jr., Herman Gabe Risner, James Miller and sister, Eliza Jane Ritchie.
Friends may call Saturday, January 21, for a Memorial Visitation and Service at 1 P.M., at Sugar Ridge Baptist Church, 36600 Sugar Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Pastor Mike Matovich and Pastor Glen Goff will officiate.
