Kevin Lee Jordan, 56, of Wellington, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, September 3, 2014, following a brief illness. He was born May 11, 1958 in Oberlin to Ione (nee Williams) and Robert Jordan and was a 1976 graduate of Wellington High School.
Kevin worked as a carpenter prior to becoming a maintenance manager at Forest City Technologies, where he worked for over 30 years. An excellent handyman, Kevin liked home renovation projects, especially cabinetry and woodworking. He also loved spending time outdoors gardening and mowing. Kevin had a great interest in watching and playing sports and was a softball coach for over 20 years. He took great pride in his children and attended all of their sporting events. He also adored his two grandchildren and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of two more grandchildren.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandra (nee Sword) Jordan; mother, Ione (nee Williams) Jordan; children, Miranda (Frank) Quintana of Worthington, Megan (Doug) Birchfield of Wellington and Michele (Aaron) Davison of Fayetteville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Elliott, Charlotte, and two on the way; siblings, Gary Jordan of Wellington, Jeff Jordan of Elyria and Les Jordan of Hayesville. He is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert and his brother, Dennis.
Friends and family will be received Sunday, September 7, 201, from 4 until 7 P.M., at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, where an 11 A.M. service will be held Monday, September 8, with Pastor Gary West officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
