Teresa L. Johnson, 47, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Amherst Hospital. She had battled a six year illness.
Teresa was a 1986 graduate of Clearview High School and attended Lorain County Joint Vocational School in 1985 and 1986. She was employed at Autumn Aegis and Oak Hills Nursing Homes before becoming disabled. She was well-known for her homemade cornbread and macaroni salad. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, spending time with her family, and playing cards.
Teresa is survived by her son, Michael Smith of Warren; brother, John Johnson of Lorain; sister, Enola Gay Nelson of Lorain; brother, Kevin Johnson of LaGrange; sister, Mary Carder of Warren; and grandmother, Elizabeth Dunn of Lorain. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Cleda Mae Dunn Johnson, in 1993; and her dad, Beryl E. Johnson, in 2004; as well as grandparents, Morgan and Baby Johnson; uncles, Henry Clay and Charles; and aunts, Sarah, Arbutis, and LaRuth.
The family will receive friends, for a memorial service, Saturday, August 2, 2014, 11 A.M., at the Toledo Road Church of Christ, 5075 Toledo Road, Lorain. Pastors Steven Cain and Randy Stewart will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Teresa is requesting donations to be made to the family, to assist with burial expenses that will take place at a later date.
The Andras Crematory & Funeral Home Alternatives, 3900 Broadway Avenue, Lorain, is assisting the family with arrangements.
