Helen Marie Wilkinson (nee McManaway), 90, of North Ridgeville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, June 26, 2014. She was born March 5, 1924 in Ward Township, Ohio.
Mrs. Wilkinson was a resident of North Ridgeville since 1975. Along with her husband, Joseph, she was the long time proprietor of Wilkinson’s IGA store in North Ridgeville. Mrs. Wilkinson was a long-time member of Church of the Open Door in Elyria, where she led singing and was the activities director of her Sunday school class. She led and participated in ladies Bible studies. She enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the United States and Europe. She also greatly loved, enjoyed and invested herself in her family.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Joseph H.; one daughter, Nancy Wilkinson Rowe (Russell); one son, Randy Wilkinson (Judy); five grandchildren, Michael and Joseph (Becky) Rowe, Kyle Wilkinson (Maggie), Kelly Riley (Dan) and Kaitlin Isch (Zack); and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, B.J. Rowe; two sisters, Alice McManaway and Anna Mount; and two brothers, Bill and Lester McManaway.
The family will receive friends Sunday June 29, 2014, from 2 until 5 P.M., at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The funeral service will be Monday, June 30, 2014, at 11 A.M., at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship, 36300 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where the family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Glenn Dunn will officiate the service. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to either the Alzheimer’s Association or to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
