Lila worked for LaGrange Screw Products in LaGrange as a machine operator for 14 years, until her retirement in 1991. Prior to that, she worked as a secretary at Spitzer Motors in Grafton for many years. She was a lifetime member of Harvest Fellowship Church of the Nazarene. Lila enjoyed baking, playing the piano for church, reading the Bible, and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Penny (Terry) Miller of Grafton, Carolyn (Benny) Hale of Crossville, Tennessee; sons, Larry (Pam) of Wellington, Donny (Michelle) of Valley City; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-children; and sister-in-law, Ruth Ade.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Don Edward; parents, Irwin and Lydia (nee Schmidtke); daughter, Starr Lynn; great-grandson, Kyler; and her brother, Bud.
Family will receive friends 4 until 7 P.M., Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626, where services will be held 10 A.M., Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Pastor Max Wood, of Harvest Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park (Amherst Twp.)
