Gerald E. "Buddy" Morrison

Gerald E. "Buddy" Morrison, 81, of Ruggles, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at his home. Born on April 17, 1933, in Upshur County, West Virginia, to the late Buck and Opal (Lane) Morrison, he was one of nine children; two brothers and six sisters.

Gerald served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 in Korea. He was a deputy sheriff in Hocking County and police officer in Logan. Gerald retired from Larsen Foundry in Grafton after 30 years and moved to Ruggles over 20 years ago, where he became owner of Route 60 Auto Salvage.

He was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Nankin. Gerald was a loving husband, dad, papaw and great-papaw. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding horses.

Survived by his loving wife of 58 ½ years, Donna J. (Mount); children, Terry (Lynna) Morrison of North Carolina, Brenda (Lloyd) Lindsey of Nova, Floyd (Peggy) Morrison of West Salem, Kenny (Cheri) Morrison of Oklahoma, Bradley Morrison of Greenwich, Lisa (David Sprague) Cool of Sullivan, Alan (Tamera) Morrison of North Carolina and Angie (Larry) Wagner of Holmesville; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 21, 2014, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 P.M., at the First Apostolic Church of Nankin, 817 Township Road 974, Ashland, where a service will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 1 P.M., with Pastor Edward Kelley officiating. Burial will follow, with military rites, in Ruggles Cemetery.
