Dorothy M. Fletcher, 91, of Litchfield, passed onto her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Dorothy was born March 2, 1923 in Cleveland, to the late William and Mae Gannet.
She has resided in Litchfield since 1945 in the same house Dorothy and her late husband Robert built themselves. Dorothy was a member of the Plant and Share Garden Club; a charter member of the Litchfield Scholarship Fund, Past matron of the Lynden Chapter #361 Ohio Eastern Star. She served as Grand Page, Grand Treasurer, and Grand Representative for three years to Quebec Canada. Dorothy had served as past President of the District OES. Dorothy had worked as a bookkeeper at the Litchfield Grain Elevator for seven years. She retired as a secretary in the Buckeye School System after 25 years of service.
She will be greatly missed by her family, a son, Chris (Linda) of Litchfield; grandchildren, Chris, Jr. (Vanessa) Fletcher of Wooster; Scott and Brian Fletcher, both of Florida, Karen (Joel) Quillen, of LaGrange, Sheri (Roger) Runals, of LaGrange, Julie (Brad) Pfaff, of LaGrange, Tom Simon, of Elyria and Michael Simon of Grafton; 18 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fletcher, March 2010; brothers, Nick Jorgensen and William Gannet.
Funeral Service will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, Ohio. Father Ron Bryda, officiating. Burial will be at the Litchfield Cemetery. Calling hours, Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Eastern Star service 7 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
