James "Pat" Farabaugh

James "Pat" Farabaugh, 87, of Elyria, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014, surrounded by his girls, Nonie, Patti, Michelle Lee, and loving family, Randy, Michael, Joel, Reece, and Cody.

Pat was born December 11, 1926 in Loretta, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Cresson High School and was deployed to Okinawa, Japan. He served in the United States Army during WWII and worked in the office. When he returned home, he attended St. Francis College of Loretta and owned and operated a gas station and garage. He married Nonie on November 28, 1950.

They moved to Elyria and Pat worked as a machinist for Bendix Westinghouse. He then went on to start his own company and was owner/operator of Pat Farabaugh Trucking. He hauled steel throughout the region. Pat loved being outside and after retiring from truck driving, he worked for Don Mould's Plantation.

Pat was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, the VFW Post 1079 and the American Legion in Pennsylvania. He loved restoring old cars and belonged to the Kaiser Frazer Club. He was well traveled throughout the country, visiting 49 of 50 states. Many times the destination would be a classic car meet, always driving, never trailering his prized processions. The family would love it if those who have classic cars would honor him by driving them in his funeral procession. He was a Great Husband, Awesome Dad, Pap-Pap and Great Pap-Pap! He was a very giving and caring person.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Leona "Nonie"; a daughter, "Patti" (Randy) Williams of Elyria; two grandchildren, Michelle Lee (Joel) Robinson of Vermilion and "his little boy", Michael Keith Burton Williams of Elyria; two great-grandchildren, "his pretty little girl", Reece and Cody Patrick Burton Robinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mattias and Blanche (nee Bradley) Farabaugh.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Sunday, February 2, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Closing prayers will be in the funeral home Monday, February 3, 2014 at 10:30 A.M., followed by mass at 11 A.M., at St. Jude Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria. The Reverend Father Frank P. Kosem, Pastor, and Deacon Patrick Humphrey will officiate. Burial, with full military honors, provided by the VFW Post 1079, will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, North Eaton.
