Janet (Clark) Myers, 76, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away early Sunday, December 15, 2013. Born April 13, 1937 in Toledo, she grew up in the Camden Township area of Ohio, moving to Chattanooga in 1973.
She was very active in Burks United Methodist Church in Hixson, Tennessee, where she was choir director, hand bell director, choir member and played her accordion and the organ for many services. She also played her accordion in the Chattanooga Orchestra and for many private affairs. Janet started her banking career in Kipton and was head teller at Sun Trust in Chattanooga, where she retired after 28 years.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin; daughter, Nancy Mills; son, Jeff; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren, all of the Chattanooga area; two sisters, Judith Fannin (Marvin) of Oberlin, Kay Gientkowski (Tom) of Amherst, and several nieces and nephews. She will be truly missed by all.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ruth (nee Krebs) Clark; sister, Karen Husted (Dale); and brother, Lawrence Andrew.
Funeral services were held in Chattanooga on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, with Reverend Amy Nutt officiating.
