Ibraheem M. Ali

Ibraheem M. Ali, 69, of Chevy Chase, Maryland, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, D.C., following a lengthy illness. He was born January 2, 1944 at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Ali graduated from Schenley High school, Pittsburgh, in 1962 and attended the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Ali was an engineer for a government agency in Washington D.C., where he retired. He was a veteran of Foreign Affairs and a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Ali loved cooking and listening to jazz. As a young man in the Pittsburgh area, Abe (as he was affectionately called) was known for being the best dancer in the Pittsburgh and East Liverpool area. Mr. Ali was well respected and loved by everyone who came in contact with him. He was a quiet, gentle giant.

Mr. Ali leaves to mourn his memory, his loving sister, Maneera (James) Hitchens, Lorain; brothers, Willie Arnold, Lorain, Greadie Arnold; his children, Gary K. Ali, Pittsburgh, Diane C. Ali, Pittsburgh, Denita Smith, Maryland; ex wife and friend, Fannie Ali, Pittsburgh; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an older brother, Alphonso Muldrow; his father, Mohammed Ali; and mother, Mary Arnold.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013, 1 P.M., at Greater Victory Christian Ministries, Sixth and Reid Avenue, Lorain. The Reverends Timothy and Deena Williams will officiate.

Arrangements entrusted to Brown Robinson Funeral Home, Lorain.
