Dennis R. Kelly

Dennis R. Kelly, 60, of Grafton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 18, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous year battle with cancer. Dennis was born August 13, 1953 in Lodi.

He resided in Medina County for many years prior to moving to Grafton 18 years ago. He was a graduate of Black River High School. Dennis served 20 years on the Spencer Fire Department. He was a member of the Wellington Eagles #2051. Dennis was employed the past 39 years at John S. Grimm Trucking in Medina.

Dennis was a gentle man, who loved and took great pride in his family and will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Renee (nee Demyan) married 21 years; and the best dad to James; loving son of Lloyd and Betty; dear brother of Sandy; and cherished uncle to Tiffany, Justin, Kevin, Holli, Nadine and Joel; dear son-in-law to Pat Demyan; and brother-in-law to Vickie Zook (Mel), Jim Demyan (Jennifer) and Denise Demyan; daughter, Lauren; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Andy Demyan.

Calling hours will be Thursday, September 26, 2013, 3 to 8 P.M., at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City. Funeral Mass will be 11 A.M., Friday, September 27, 2013, at St. Martin of Tours, 1800 Station Road, Valley City, with Reverend Thomas Dunphy officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Church Cemetery, Valley City.

Dennis' family would like to express their sincere gratitude to John and Barbara Grimm for the years of service and support given to them. The Kelly family extends a thank you to the nursingstaff at Keystone Pointe Health and Rehab in LaGrange and a special thank you to Doreen Carnahan, RN, and Jen Hackney, LPN, for all their support and loving care given to Dennis in his final days with us.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made, if desired, to the James Kelly college fund, in care of the family. He is attending the University of Northwestern Ohio, in Lima.
