John W. McNeill, 60, of Sheffield Lake, died Thursday, September 5, 2013 in the Oak Hills Nursing Home in Lorain, following a brief illness. John was born July 23, 1953 in Maxton, North Carolina and had lived in Lorain most of his life.
He attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Lorain. He worked in construction and was known for being a helpful handyman.
John is survived by his son, Tomack McNeill of Lorain; mother, Fannie Young-Lester of Sheffield Lake; father, John W. McNeill, Sr. of New Jersey; granddaughter, Heaven McNeill; brother, David (Crista) McNeill of Akron; many nieces and nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his step father, James Lester; brothers, Freddie McNeill and Maurice Kevin Young.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 9, 2013 from 7 to 9 P.M. at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway in Lorain. Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 10, 1996 at 11 A.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1516 East 30th St. Lorain, with Reverend Donald Young Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
