Thomas J. McMillen, 98, of North Ridgeville, passed away at his home with his family by his side, on August 31, 2013. He was born on August 26, 1915 in Masontown, Pennsylvania and had lived in North Ridgeville for the past 63 years.
Thomas worked in the construction trades and was a 50 year member of the Laborers Local 860 in Cleveland, retiring in 1985. He was a hardworking man who was devoted to his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching baseball games, his train collection and for many years, spent time making ceramics with his wife, Mildred.
Thomas is survived by his son, Frank (Daphne) Minnick of Georgia; daughters, Terry (Don) Frederick of Columbus, Marie Phillips of Florida, Barb (George) Kimble of North Ridgeville and Phoebe (John) Scholl of North Ridgeville; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; brother, Walter McMillen of Pennslyvania; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Mildred; parents, Walter and Barbara (nee Gunther) McMillen; sisters, Marie and Ada; brother, Harry.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 2, from 5 to 8 P.M. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville, where Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 10 A.M. Rev. Steven Long will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
