Donald H. Marsh, 89, a resident of Neshaminy Manor, in Warrington, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita (Penn) Marsh, who died February 5, 2004. He was born November 17, 1923 in Elyria, and was the son of the late Hobert E. and Mary G. (Esker) Marsh.
Mr. Marsh attended Ohio State University before his induction into the Army Air Force. He proudly served as an aviator in the Himalayas during World War II where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Oak Leaf Cluster, and Presidential Citation for his duty. After his discharge, Mr. Marsh owned and operated Progressive Plating, Elyria, and continued to work as a Chemical Engineer throughout his career, retiring from Penn Fishing Tackle Manufacturing Co. in 1986.
Don loved 1960’s vintage Thunderbird convertibles and was the proud owner of two award-winning show cars.
Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth A. Lyle of North Wales, Pennsylvania; brother, General C. Marsh (Betty) of Elyria; and friend of the family, Vern Lyle of Manchester, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Marsh; and an infant son.
Visitation will be held between 1 and 2 P.M., Friday, August 23, 2013, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. Graveside services will follow at 3 P.M. in Beulah Cemetery, New Britain, Pennsylvania.
