Paul Ruminsky

Paul Ruminsky, 93, of Amherst, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013, after a six month battle with lung cancer. He was born in Lorain September 8, 1919, and graduated from Lorain High School in 1938.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, to whom he was married 70 years; a son, Robert (Kris); daughters, Jean Wingate and Judy (Charles) Ingersoll; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Paul was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. After an honorable discharge, he became a tool and die maker, and for many years owned his own company, Products Research. Upon retirement, Paul opened a camera store, Parke Camera, which he and his wife operated for 20 years.

Paul loved Ham Radio (K8USD), flying his own plane, photography, radio-controlled models, playing his guitar, and woodworking. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 70 years, the Watch Collectors Association, and the American Legion Post 118 in Amherst.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held Monday, August 5, 2013, at 11 A.M., at the St. George's Chapel, 763 Milan Avenue, Amherst, with burial to follow at Brownhelm Cemetery in Vermilion.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choosing.
