Edmond D. Gregory, 83, of Oberlin, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Mercy Allen Hospital, after a short illness. He was born in Barbourville, Kentucky.
He worked at Elyria Foundry and then at Ford Motor Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1994. Edmond was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he was a Kingsman and sang in the mens choir. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Gregory of Oberlin; daughters, Diane York of Barbourville, Kentucky, Wanda Young of Lubbock, Texas, Margaret Young of Oberlin, Janet Gregory of Oberlin and Terri Gregory of Oberlin; sons, Rickey Gregory of Oberlin and Stewart (Donna) Gregory of Oberlin; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers, Holbert (Pat) Gregory of Dayton and Royal (Dorothy) Gregory of Oberlin; sisters, Omeline Ventus of Cincinnati, Betty Reba (Max) Bryant of Cincinnati, Marsha (Steve) Miller of Cincinnati and Yvonne (Frank) Upton of Sommerset, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Gregory; mother, Ola B. Gregory; brother, Oscar Barham; and sister, Willa Mae Ellis.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 10 A.M. until the 11 A.M. funeral service, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, in Oberlin. Rev. Fred L. Bell will officiate. Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery.
