Joyce Marie Sper, 68, of Grafton, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 in her home, after a brief illness. She was born March 17, 1945 in Cleveland, living in Eaton Township over the past 10 years.
She was a member of North Eaton Baptist Church for many years. She was previously employed by Parma City Schools as a bus driver, and most recently by Ohio Bell working in returns until her retirement. She was a longtime volunteer in Doberman rescue, and a member of Cleveland All Breed Training Club. Friends will miss Joyce’s own brand of humor and her willingness to jump in wherever needed.
She is survived by a son, Darryl Sper of Brookpark; two sisters, Joanne Simsalek of North Royalton and Antoinette Benninger of Marblehead; two brothers, Edward (Wanda) Simsalek of Alabama and Marc Jacob of Florida; by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends, whom Joyce cared about deeply; also her two beloved companions, Tucker and ShyAnn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ann Jacob and Edward Simsalek.
A memorial service will be held in N. Eaton Baptist Church, 12109 S. Reed Rd., Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Stephen Carter officiating.
