John Edward Conrady, Jr., 70, and a resident of New London, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at Akron City Hospital, following a long illness. John was born October 2, 1942 in Lorain.
He was a graduate from Brookside High School in the class of 1958. After retirement, John had made his home in New London. He proudly served in the United States Navy. John was employed in the stock department at Ford Motor Company in Lorain for 30 years before retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Group in Vermilion. John enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his sons, John Edward Conrady III and his wife Enecita of San Diego, California and Robert Paul Conrady of Elyria; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Joseph Conrady in May 2011; brother, Michael J. Conrady, who was killed during Vietnam in 1968; and his parents, John Edward and Anna Conrady (nee Kwoka).
Friends may call Friday, May 3, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Graveside Service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10 A.M. at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain. The Rev. N. James Greenawalt, will officiate. Military Honors will be performed by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard.
