Reverend Randall H. Knopsnyder

Reverend Randall H. Knopsnyder, 81, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home, Monday, April 1, 2013. He was born September 25, 1931 in Clinton, Pennsylvania.

Randall served in Korea with the United States Army from 1950-53. He retired in 1986 after 31 years of service at U.S. Steel Company in Lorain. He was a member of Local #1049 in Lorain and VFW Post #1079 in Elyria. Randall was ordained into ministry in 1987 and served as an Evangelist in several churches throughout Lorain County.

Reverend Knopsnyder is survived by his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth (nee Atwell) of Elyria; children, Daniel (Heather) Knopsnyder of Pennsylvania, Randall Kenneth (Holly) Knopsnyder of Pennsylvania, Shawn (Shawna) Knopsnyder of Pennsylvania, Roxanne Payton of Florida, Connie Ohler of California, and Stephanie (Brian) Tillman of Creston, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Nichelson of Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Strawn H. and Mary Ellan (nee Burkholder) Knopsnider; brother, William Kenneth Knopsnider; sisters, Opal Leatherwood and Wilma Nichelson.

Friends may call 2 until 4 P.M. and 6 until 8 P.M., Friday, April 5, 2013, at Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second Street, Elyria. Funeral service will be 11 A.M., Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the funeral home. Reverend Ray Smith, of The Way, Truth, and Light Ministry, will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon, where Military Honors will be performed by VFW Post #1079 of Elyria.
