Junior Clinton Clark

Junior Clinton Clark, 76, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at New Life Hospice Residential Center, in Lorain following a lengthy illness. He was born June 17, 1936 in Robbins, Tennessee, where he was raised and lived until the age of 15.

Junior had made his home in the Amherst area since 1951. Junior was employed as a sawyer, quarryman at the Cleveland Quarries for 26 years. He loved listening to bluegrass music, and would invite local bluegrass groups to his home to play for family and friends. His hobbies included fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his sons and their wives, Mark and Tina Clark of Vermilion, Matthew and Carla Clark of Amherst; his daughters, Judy Kathleen Klamp of Ashland, Dorita Gail Collins of Carollton, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; his brothers, Arnold and Sylvester Clark both of Robbins, Tennessee; his sisters, Joan Sexton of Dalton, Georgia and Shelby Bunn of Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lonnie Elaine Clark (nee Bray) November 21, 2012; his daughter, Kimberly Jean Clark in 1963; four brothers; and four sisters; and by his parents, Edgar Marion and Minnie Bell Clark (nee Flowers).

Friends may call Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 25, 2013, at 11 A.M., at the funeral home. The Reverend Farrell Keith, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in South Amherst will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
