William Charles Hobill, 93, of Oberlin, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Mercy Community Hospital in Lorain. He was born in Elyria, to the late Rollin and Kathryn Hobill on October 14, 1919.
William was a 1938 Elyria High School graduate. He worked for J&R Construction as a carpenter for many years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of East Oberlin Community Church, and was a member of Local #306 Carpenters Union. He enjoyed woodworking and oil painting.
William is survived by his wife, Betty L. Hobill; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a son, David C. Hobill; brother, Rollin Hobill; and sister, Maryon Petrisko.
Visitation will be Monday, February 25, 2013, from 10 A.M. until the time of 11 A.M. service at Cowling Funeral Home, Oberlin. Pastor Brian Kenyon of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery.
