Georgia graduated from Elyria High School in 1940 and from St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland with her RN in 1943. She married William Anton in 1947 and resided in Cleveland until moving to Wellington in 1972. She worked as Director of Nursing for the Elms Nursing Home until her retirement in 1987. Georgia remained an active Parishioner as Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick Church. Every Thursday, she could be found working as the bus dispatcher for RSVP until her recent health decline.
She leaves behind many good friends with whose friendships she cherished.
Georgia now is reunited with her parents, William and Margaret; husband, Bill; and family and friends that have preceded her.
Left behind with many loving memories are her daughter, Annie Konkler (Sal Gurreri); grandchildren, Bryan (Darcy), Mark (Kristi), Molly Merryman (James); great grandchildren, Autumn, Dylan, Nathanial and Samantha; her sister, Nina Osborne and many nieces and nephews that have always been a major part of her life.
Special thanks to her niece, Marie Osborne; her sister, Nina; and nephew, Jim Anton for being there daily for comfort and assistance. Also, thanks to Michelle Naylor for her special companionship and to New Life Hospice for their invaluable care.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Georgia’s life on Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St., Wellington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 11, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 512 North Main Street, beginning at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the New Life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Rd., Lorain, OH 44053, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
