Rosie L. Horton, 83, of Elyria, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 3, 2013, in the Center Ridge Health Care Center, following a long illness. She was born in Riverview Alabama, coming to Elyria in 1946.
Mrs. Horton was employed in the operation chipping and grinding dept. for Abex Corp., retiring after 20 years of service. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Elyria, where she served as an Usher for over 30 years. She was also on the kitchen committee and a member of the Elyria Branch NAACP. She enjoyed shopping and dressing in fashionable clothing and traveling.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Jasper Horton of 65 years; son, Robert L. Horton of Mentor; brother, James Hutchinson of North Carolina; nephew, Moss Hutchinson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by grandson, Kaliq H. Horton; parents, Arthur and Annie Lee Hutchinson; and sister, Margret Frasier.
Friends may call Thursday, February 7, 2013, from 11 A.M., until time of service at 12 P.M., in the Bethany Baptist Church, 334 17th St., Elyria. The Reveverend J. Howard Timmons will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
