Leonard A. Stringer, 77, of Elyria, passed away suddenly, at Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland, on Saturday, February 2, 2013, with his family at his side. He was born in Peytona, West Virginia, November 18, 1935, to Gracie (Tackett) and Roland Stringer.
Mr. Stringer was retired from General Motors in Parma, and worked for the Medina Township Police Department. He belonged to the Blue Knights Chapter II and the Stars Motorcycle club.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (nee Pack) of 20 years; four children, Leonard, Jr. (Lori), James (Criss), Charles (Pam), Velina Stringer; two step children, Tamra Tury (Jeff), Ron Huntley, Jr. (Lisa); 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 4, 2013 from 1 P.M. until the 2 P.M. memorial service at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, 38550 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the church.
