Robert W. Parker

Robert W. Parker, 66, of Spencer, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at his home, following a brief illness. He was born July 4, 1946 in Lodi, to Loren and Jeanette (Griggs) Parker .

He attended Black River and Wellington schools, and later entered the U.S. Navy in 1965, serving in Vietnam. Following his discharge from the Navy, he married the love of his life, Sally Cathleen Mohrman on July 11, 1969.

He resided in the Huntington and Spencer areas most of his life, and was retired from Columbia Gas following 30 years of service. He later worked for Town and Country Farmers Co-op for 13 years before retiring in 2012.

He was a member of the Spencer American Legion Post, and former member of the Spencer Fire Department, and AMVETS.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Cathleen; daughter, Mary Jayne (Jeff) Kish of Sullivan; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jayne and Mallory Cathleen Kish; sister, Judy (Morris) Gillett of Grafton; brother, Kim Parker of Elyria; half brother, Jeff Parker of Wakeman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and precious grandson, Jacob Robert Kish.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M., at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St, Spencer, 330-648-2180. A Memorial service will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the funeral home. Pastor Reid Firestone, will officiate. Interment will follow at Spencer Cemetery.
