Eilene Dotson (nee McDonald) formerly Huerner, 70, of Elyria, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Cleveland on October 11, 1942 and had been a lifelong resident of Lorain County.
Eilene was a graduate of Avon High School and had been employed by The Chronicle Telegram in the Classified Department. She enjoyed painting, singing karaoke, and antiques at flea markets.
Survivors include her children, Chris (Kathy) Huerner, Kurt Huerner, Kimberly Kelsay; step children; grandchildren, Madeline Kelsay and Nick (Nicole) Huerner; and step grandchildren; brother, William McDonald; sister, Jeanette (Ted) Cates and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ival Dotson; parents, William and Irene (nee Haney) McDonald; and her brother, Gordon McDonald.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Road, Sheffield Township, where service will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
