William Dawson Borror, 83, of Grafton passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 in his home after a brief illness. He was born August 24, 1929 in Landes, West Virginia, living in the Grafton area over 40 years.
He was a member of North Eaton Baptist Church for many years. Mr. Borror served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in the 5 RCT mortar crew in Korea. He received a Purple Heart from injuries received while serving. He worked for the Ford Motor Co. in Brookpark over 30 years in assembly, before retiring in 1983. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by one son, Wendell (Karen) Borror of Grafton; two grandsons, Jeremy Dawson (Jessica) Borror of Grafton and Jason Daniel Borror of North Ridgeville; three great grandchildren; and one sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Simmon and Cora Borror; his wife, Orideus; and five brothers.
Friends may call in the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, 38550 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria Monday, January 21, 2013 from 4 to 7 P.M. with funeral service, Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Darrel Myers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. Military service will be conducted by Mihalis VFW Post 1079 of Elyria.
