Marilyn A. Hadaway (nee Dunlap), 84, of Elyria, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain. She was born July 25, 1928, in New London, and was a 1946 graduate of Elyria High School.
Marilyn received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Kent State University and her Master’s degree from Cleveland State University. Most of her teaching career was at Windsor Elementary School in Elyria, where she taught for 25 years, retiring in 1991. She was an enthusiastic bridge player and enjoyed playing golf and traveling.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard J. Hadaway; daughters, Gail (Timothy) Haywood of LaGrange and Nancy Hadaway of Ashland; a son, Richard (Patti nee Peters) Hadaway of Alpharetta, Georgia; grandchildren, Tom and Emily Hadaway; and a brother, Charles (Betty) Dunlap of Lakeland, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Ruth Dunlap; and a stepsister, Rita Koteles.
A memorial service will be Saturday, November 24, 2012, at 11 A.M., in Washington Avenue Christian Church, 301 Washington Ave., Elyria, with Reverend Janet A. Long officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
