Leland George Moore, 82, and a resident of Westlake, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Arden Courts in Westlake following a lengthly illness. He was born November 24, 1929 in Wellington. Leland was raised in Henrietta and graduated from Henrietta High School in the class of 1947. He had made his home in Westlake since 2008.
Leland proudly served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was a truck driver by trade for 40 years, working at Lehman Cartigage Company, K. Watson Trucking and the Cleveland Quarries and for Norwalk Furniture Company for the last 22 years of his career before retiring in 1990. Leland was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in South Amherst.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Susan Moore (nee Eberhardt); his daughters, Jayne M. Conroy of Columbus, Susi A. Moore of Avon Lake; his grandsons, Geoffrey Leland Conroy and Jay Louis Conroy; his nephew, Chip Rathwell; his niece, Lois Love; and son-in-law, Gerald Conroy.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris Rathwell, Letty Miko; niece, Jean Dewey; and his parents, George S. and Gertrude Moore (nee Caswell).
Services were held privately by the family.
