Michael Robert Killean, 61, formerly of Elyria and resident of Fort Myers, Florida, retired in Tela, Honduras, until his passing Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.
He was born October 4, 1949 in Clinton, Iowa. Michael entered the Elyria Police Department and earned the respect and recognition of his peers before retiring as a Decorated Lieutenant.
Michael (grandpa pirate) enjoyed sailing thru the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean, as well as to other exotic destinations until finally reaching the jungle in Guatemala where he was most happy.
Michael was a loving father, brother, grandfather, father-in-law and friend.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Odilia Killean of Tela, Honduras; daughter, Jennifer L. Logan of Lodi, Wisconsin; son, Michael R. W. (Ana) Killean of Lodi, Wisconsin; daughter, Emily M. Killean of Tela, Honduras; grandchildren, Connor Michael Killean of Lodi, Wisconsin and Paige J. Logan of Sheffield Lake; sister, Michele Rice of Aurora, Colorado and sister, Sheila Killean of Lorain.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mailou (Sadler) Killean and brother, Joel Killean.
We will all miss him dearly.
