Kathryn Paulick Pick

Kathryn Paulick Pick, 70, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, December 9, 2007 at her home in Brunswick, surrounded by her family. She was born November 22, 1937 in Cleveland, to May Leila and Wilbur Joseph Heinmiller, who preceded her in death.

She graduated in 1955 from St. Joseph's Academy in Cleveland. Early in her life, her compassion showed as she worked as a Candy Striper at Berea Community Hospital, donated blood through the Red Cross for numerous years and achieved 5 gallon donor level. Throughout the years, she was the Co-director for the Brunswick Food Pantry, involved with Medina Co., Feed-A-Family and Hunger Task Force. Kathryn was an appointed representative of Medina County Advisory Council on Aging, the Brunswick Hills Township Trustee board as well as volunteer for the Medina County Jail Library. She was active in her church and was Treasurer as well as holding numerous offices in the Mt. Pleasant Women's Circle. Kathryn was also a Medina Gazette award winning watercolor artist and an avid orchid grower. She was employed in her early years at NASA and later at First Merit Bank of Brunswick.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Raymond Ralph Pick; daughters, Sandy (Mark) Bardall, Elizabeth (Bill) Kraker, Linda (David) Schwark, Georgia (Kurt) Smudz,  Leila (Bill) Jindra; son, David (Judi) Pick; grandchildren, Craig and Erin Bardall, Brian, William and Cynthia Schwark, Emily, Caitlin and Joe Kraker, Jake, Zack and Dylan Smudz, Karl Tobianski, Ozzie Jindra; step-grandchildren, Anthony, Paige and Kelsey Monyak, Wayne, Jason, Matthew and Zach Jindra; brother, Willam Paulick; and sister, Peggy Paulick.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 12 Noon at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 2768 Laurel Rd., Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers a contribution to Hospice of Medina Co., Medina Feed-A-Family, or Brunswick Food Pantry would be appreciated.

As her last unselfish act, Kathryn donated her body to Case Western Reserve University for research.
