Moses Veres, 92, of Cave Creek, Arizona, and former longtime Elyria resident, passed away November 7, 2007. Moses was born in Duquesne, Pennsylvania and moved to Elyria at an early age. He attended Markley School. He later met and married Elyria resident Alma Blanche Richards in 1941, Together, they owned and operated Griswold Road Supply, a hardware and building supply business in Elyria. In 1963, he and Alma moved their family of eight children to Cave Creek, Arizona. Moses continued to work as a builder and handyman and sent all eight children to college at Arizona State University. He was active in the Cave Creek community and belonged to the Cave Creek Improvement Association, the Rock Club, and the Senior Social Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Alma and his daughter, Marjorie. His seven children, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren survive him.
A graveside memorial service was held November 10, 2007 at Holy Redeener Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona.
