Paul Henry Shook, 82, of Elyria, died Thursday, November 15, 2007 at his home. He was born May 17, 1925 in Elyria where he had lived most of his life.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII. Paul was employed by Gettings & Lewis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a machine repairman. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, VFW Post #1079, and enjoyed golf, gardening, travel, and was a Civil war buff.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Josephine (neeÂ Haumesser); one daughter, Susan VanDyke (husband Doug) of Barstow, California; one grandson, Paul Koehn; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and great nieces.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna; and one son Gary; two sisters, Ruth Beard, Mabel Jaycox; four brothers, Ralph, Fred, Raymond and Perry.
Friends may call 2 to 5 P.M. Sunday, November 18, 2007 at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home at Chestnut Ridge Rd. and State Rt. 57, Elyria. Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Monday, November 19, 2007, at St. John Lutheran Church, 1140 West River Rd., Elyria, (Please meet at church) where the family will receive friends one hour prior to Services.Â Pastor Von Berlin will officiate. Burial will be in South Murray Ridge Cemetery, Carlisle Twp., where VFW Post #1079 will provide Military Honors.
