Thelma Louise Arnold, 81, of Oberlin, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2007 after a long illness. She was born February 9, 1926 in Monroe, Louisiana. She had lived in Oberlin since 1946. Thelma worked as a manager in the custodial care at Oberlin College for 41 years, retiring in 1993. She attended Lewis Business College in Detroit, Michigan and the Oberlin School of Commerce. She was a member of Rust United Methodist Church. She was also a Life Member of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Club and also Oberlin's Negro Business and Professional Women's Club. She was a former member of the N.A.A.C.P. Thelma attended Mt. Zion of Lorain and where she attended Sunday School. She enjoyed reading, and playing cards.
She is survived by her step-son, Eddie Arnold, of Washington, D.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus Arnold; father, Romey Grey; and mother, Etta Grey.
A private family burial will be at a later date in Westwood Cemetery.
