Mona Lou Swift, 78, of Ivydale, West Virginia, formerly of Eaton Twp., died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at the Braxton Memorial Hospital in West Virginia. She was born June 19, 1929 in Columbus.
She was a retired cook from the Midview School District, and had attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Grafton, and also attended Ivydale Methodist Church in West Virginia. She had volunteered at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain, and enjoyed baking, sewing, and cake decorating.
She is survived by sons, Ronald (Karen) Swift of Euclid, David Swift, Kerry (Debbie) Swift of Ivydale, and Daniel Swift of Elyria; a daughter; Dara (Dan) Taylor of Elyria; and three brothers, Verl White, Albert White Jr., and Robert White, all of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Swift; one sister; Gloria White, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Mona Swift; parents, Albert and Clarice White.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday, November 11, 2007, at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home at Chestnut Ridge Rd. and State Rt. 57, Elyria. Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. Monday, November 12, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church 38307 Royalton Rd. Grafton. (Please meet at the church). Deacon John Ramsey will officiate. Burial will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, North Eaton.
