Lico Y. Boone, 81, of Elyria, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2007 in his home following a long illness. He was born in El Dorado, AR, coming to Elyria 51 years ago. He was employed as a laborer for Duplex Foundry and Tappan Industries, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Elyria, where he was a church Deacon, and a Mason with Sidonia Lodge # 93 F & AM of Elyria.
He enjoyed cooking, canning and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Dollie (JoeLee) Davis and Evonne (Larry) Cox both of Elyria, Vernell Boone of Oberlin, Carolyn Boone of Kissimmee, FL; sons, J.L., Dariel and Richard of Elyria, Jerry Boone of Atlanta, GA; 40 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; brother, Arthur Boone of El Dorado, AR; sisters, Dollie Smith and BeDessie Alderson of Duarte, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vernice Boone; parents, Arthur Sr. and Annie Boone; daughters, Shirley and Vickie Boone; sons, James Edward Boone, Richard Allen Boone, and Daniel Boone; four brothers; and five sisters.
Friends may call Sunday, October 14, 2007 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Carter Funeral Homes Chapel, 127 W. Bridge Street, Elyria. Services will be held on Monday October 15, 2007 at Noon in the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where the Rev. Dr. Marcettes Cunningham, Pastor, will officiate services. Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
